Struck to dedicate the city of Nuremberg on the election of Karl VII as Holy Roman Emperor, January 24, 1742.

Karl was Prince-elector of Bavaria from 1726 and the Holy Roman Emperor from 1742 until his death in 1745.

A member of the House of Wittelsbach, Charles was notably the first person not born of the House of Habsburg to become emperor in over three centuries.
