swords crossed with a wreath of laurel. In the middle a scroll of parchment with
the words "Liberty 15 of September, 1821" and in the upper part the national
bird; the Quetzal.
Reverse
Denomination at top and a bust of Bartolomé de las Casas (c. 1484 – 1566).
No outlined coat. Smaller portrait, date, and letters. Lighter letters. Date with dots.
