Yaroslav Vladimirovich, known as YaroslavI
and better known as Yaroslav the Wise. is a grand prince of the Rus' of Kiev of
the Riourikides dynasty (born in 978 and died on February 20, 1054 in Vychgorod),
who reigned from 1016 to 1018, then from 1019 to 1024 and finally from 1024 to
1054.
He was the son of Vladimir I the Great and Rogneda of Polotsk, prince of Rostov
from 978 to 1010, and prince of Novgorod from 1010 to 1019.
It is under his reign that the Rus' of Kiev knows its apogee.
