Wolf Zalmanson was one of the original
Russian " Refuseniks".In 1970,a group of 10 Jews and 2 Christian chartered a
small plain in Leningrad saying they were bound for a wedding .thus it called "
Operation Wedding "They had plan to push the pilots out of the airport and were
rounded up ,beaten and sent to prison and charged with hifg treason ,10 were
sent to hard labor and 2 to death. The arrest and trials triggered international
protest and galvanized the movement to free Soviet Jewry
