The Dominion of Ghana was created in 1957,
when the Gold Coast & British Togoland became independent.



The Dominion of Ghana ceased to exist on 1 July 1960, when the Republic of Ghana
was created - with Kwame Nkrumah as the first President of the Republic of Ghana
(1960 - 66) until his dictatorship was overthrown in the 14 February 1966 Coup.
