Flavius Julius Crispus, eldest son of Constantine Ist The Great, was appointed Caesar in A.D. 317, and gained distinction in a campaign against the Franks and in the war with Licinius ; but, having excited the jealousy of his step-mother Fausta, he was put to death by his father in 326.
