This is a Soviet commemorative bronze-tombac medal dedicated to the renowned Russian poet Alexander Pushkin (1799–1837).
100th Anniversary of the Birth of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin
It was minted in 1977 at the Leningrad Mint (ЛМД) and designed by medal artist A.V. Kozlov.
Reference: Listed as Shkurko, Salykov # 1084a in the reference work Commemorative Medals of the Soviet Period 1919–1991.
Composition: Tombac (an alloy of copper and zinc, often referred to as red brass).
